On Friday, 27th March 2020, we invited some of our favourite emerging artists from around the world to come on-air, sing a bit, chat a bit to help lift the blues we’re all feeling right now. It was: LIVE FROM HOME.
Our final act for the broadcast were the incomparable Avenue Beat.
In they’re own words, Avenue Beat are a brash, bright and wildly melodic trio and they brought the energy we needed to end off our special broadcast!
Made up of Sam, Sami and Savana, they’re three best friends from Illinois who blow off any expectation of what a “girl group” is supposed to be and make the music that speaks to their own truth.
They called into LIVE FROM HOME to talk about how Avenue Beat became a “thing”, the stages of getting obsessed with TikTok and if they’re really a “delight” (it’s a song reference!). Listen to the full interview below.
