Slayyyter is a modern DIY pop artist doing things her own way.

Across singles including “Mine”, “Daddy AF” and “BFF” she has proven that she is not afraid to break the rules and release music that says exactly what is on her mind – whether that’s celebrating her sexuality, talking about love and relationships… or just having good times with her best friends.

Growing up on a steady diet of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Slayyyter’s story is as much about fighting for her spot in a highly-competitive industry as it is about idolising pop culture. After dropping out of college, she started developing her music whilst working as a receptionist. It was a trip to L.A. though that helped her find her “crowd” and get comfortable making the music she was born to make.

With her 2019 self-titled mixtape making a big impression, at the start of 2021 she announced her debut album, “Troubled Paradise”, due for release on June 11th. The album is set to explore the “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore” moments, where she’s stepped outside of her comfort zone and to pursue one of the hardest dreams imaginable: global pop stardom.

Slayyyter sat down with James Gilmore to talk about owning her sexuality, DIY’ing her career every step of the way and “Troubled Paradise”.
