The Rions

From Avalon on the Northern beaches of Sydney, Australia, The Rions - consisting of Noah Bockley (vocals & bass), Tom Partington (drums), Harley Wilson (keys and rhythm guitar) and Asher McLean (lead guitar) - started playing together as a band in Year 7 for a talent quest in high school.

Realising their love and passion for music and being the best of friends, the boys continued performing together from the age of 13 - under the guidance of their music teacher John Stone (the father of pop indie group, Angus & Julia Stone).

The boys have explored a ton of genres from modern music icons such as Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith to more 60s/70s influences, such as The Beatles. But that wasn’t the end - they then moved their sound to more local bands that they look up up, such as Lime Cordiale, Ocean Ally and Eagle Eye Jones.

The Rions
are pretty new to the scene but seem like they’ve been around way longer with the immense talent they have.

Rojan Said sat on Skype with the band to talk about the meaning behind their songs, and even a few new songs that aren't out yet! They also talk creative inspiration, their dream concert/festivals and much more!

Broadcasted exclusively worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.

A NOTE REGARDING THIS INTERVIEW

We had a slight hiccup/technical issues while recording with The Rions, which meant Rojan and the band misunderstood each other in regards to what song they were talking about midway though the interview – this was cleared up afterwards over email.

Originally, we thought that the ‘servo guy’ they were talking about was ‘Sadie’, but in fact they were just two different songs.
