Tia Kofi hosts The Final FronTia, the podcast where pop culture fandoms collide and we share our biggest obsessions. From the Tardis to the Big Brother house, each week RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner and all-round superfan Tia is joined by the icons, stans and stars who live and breathe queer pop culture — for the behind-the-scenes tea, the passionate deep dives, and to reveal the things they’re secretly fans of.
We're back with a brand new series of The Final FronTia (and a new look, for those of you on YouTube!). We're kicking it off with a singer, actor, drag superstar and one of the most recognisable voices to come out of the UK drag scene: Divina de Campo!
Best known as a finalist on the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, Divina has spent decades building a career that spans drag, musical theatre, television and live performance. She's also appeared on the likes of The Voice, 8 Out of 10 Cats and on stage in Chicago (UK Tour) and The SpongeBob Musical. She currently stars in the London production of Ride The Cyclone.
On this episode of The Final FronTia, Tia and Divina talk about life before and after Drag Race, the realities of sustaining a long-term career in entertainment, and what it means to be an artist first and a reality TV contestant second.
They discuss the evolution of drag in the UK, the changing landscape of queer performance, and the opportunities - and pressures - that come with mainstream visibility.
There’s also plenty of theatre chat, including the crossover between drag and musical performance. Along the way, they swap stories from the industry!
Expect strong opinions, big laughs and at least a few moments where the conversation disappears down an unexpected tangent before triumphantly finding its way back again.
