Verne Troyer

Before Verne Troyer made his name as ‘Mini Me’ in the 1999 hit film ‘Austin Powers’, he was a well-known stunt double. Due to his height, he was in the unique position of being able to stunt for small children, for example in the 1994 film ‘Baby’s Day Out’ when he played the stunt double for one of the baby’s.

Following his sad, untimely death, many people are remembering him for his parts in the likes of ‘Austin Powers’ as well as ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ and, even, ‘Keith Lemon: The Movie’ - however, W!ZARD Radio Station founder and presenter James Gilmore is in the unique position of having interviewed him in 2015.

Verne was starring in a low-budget film called ‘Convenience’ about two “idiots” who try to rob a convenience store, but ultimately end up working there. To promote the film, he did a series of phone interviews with the press - with James being one of the interviewees that day.

James remembers Verne Troyer’s kindness and genuineness, playing along with the then-17 year old interviewer through a series of, frankly, embarrassing questions!

In the interview, the two discuss Verne’s trips to the infamous Playboy Mansion, his friendship with Leigh Francis (known best for his character Keith Lemon) and more.

Broadcasted exclusively worldwide on W!ZARD Radio Station.
