If you have any doubt, lose it: d4vd will be the next biggest artist on the planet.

Despite having only debuted properly in 2022 (he released 1 single independently at the end of 2021), the artist from Houston, Texas is already one of the Top 100 biggest artists on Spotify… and it was never his intention to become an artist in the first place!

D4vd first started making music to accompany his Fortnite videos – tired of either having his videos taken down for copyright strikes or having videos blowing up promoting other artists music. It was when one of his videos featuring the song “You and I” blew up that he decided to put it on Spotify… 20M streams later, it turns out to be the right decision.

2022 saw the release of his half-a-billion streamed record “Romantic Homicide” which put d4vd on the map as a true artist. The emo-influenced viral record peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100 leading to a major record deal and a world tour.

James Gilmore sat down with d4vd to talk about his break-through year, the resurgence of his single “Here With Me” and how becoming famous has changed his process.
